Habitat: small, dry prairie remnant in broad right-of-way ... Full sun. Level outwash sand. Associated species include Poa pratensis, Bouteloua curtipendula, Sporobolus heterolepis, Schizachrium [sic] scoparium, Andropogon gerardii, Petalostemum purpureum, P. candidum, Liatris punctata, L. aspera, Solidago rigida, penstemon grandiflorus, Aster ericoides, Amorpha canescens.
