Habitat: In a narrow band of brushy woods on a N-facing slope ... Associated with Physocarpus opulifolius, Viburnum trilobum, Cornus rugosa, C. alternifolia, Ostrya virginiana.
Description: A small single-stemmed tree 4.6 meters tall and 8 cm in diameter. Stamens ca 10, anthers white. No compound thorns present. At peak of anthesis this date (1 wk later than chrysocarpa). collected from the same stem as #25959 (fruiting specimen).
