Habitat: At base of northwest-facing, 15 m, Duluth Complex cliff ... in narrow vertical crack running for 1.5 m. Cliff face very sparsely vegetated except for nearly continous [sic] cover of lichens. Nearby associates incude Diervilla lonicera, Campanula rotundifolia,Solidago c.f. hispida, Rubus idaeus, and Carex media.
