Habitat: large tamarack swamp dominated by rather dense, mature canopy of Larix laricina. on drier, mossy hummocks. Associates include Cornus rugosa, Betula glandulifera, Ribes triste, R. hirtellum, Rhamnus alnifolia, Rubus pubescens, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Carex leptalea, C. aurea, C. disperma, Galium triflroum, Impatiens capensis, Geum rivale.
