Habitat:
In mesic hardwood forest on steep north facing slope. With Tilia americana, Acer saccharum, Thalictrum dioicum, Hepatica americana, Pyrola sp., Anemoine quinquefolia, Maianthemum canadense. Growing in small hummock of moss at base of tree.
