Habitat: In a brushy edge habitat ... Associated with Viburnum trilobum, V. rafinesquianum, Corylus american, Cornus foemina ssp. racemosa.
Description: A relatively broad, stout single-stemmed tree; 3.4 m tall, 11 cm dbh. Stamens 6-8, anthers pink. No compound thorns but simple thorns occasional. Flowered well in the spring but produced very few fruits. Collected from same stem as WRS 26168 (flowering).
