Habitat: On sandbar. In coarse open sand with numerous shells ~3-12 inches above current river level (low due to extended drought). Mostly full sun. Associated species include Eragrostis hypnoides, Cyperus aristatus, Veronica catenata, Polygonum lapathifolium, Lindernia dubia, Mollugo verticillata, Rumex maritimus, Myosoton aquaticum. Also, occasional on sandbar at the mouth of river with Cyperus bipartus, Eleocharis intermedia, Zizania palustris, Leersia oryzoides, Bidens cernua, Cardamine pensylvanica, Heteranthera dubia, Chenopodium glaucum.
