Habitat: Gently-rolling terrain of the Nimrod drumlin plain ... along the margin of the road ditch ... as it cuts through a tamarack - alder swamp. Saturated peat. Mostly in full sun. Associated species include Scirpus cyperinus, Carex lasiocarpa, C. prairie, C. lacustris, Equisetum fluviatile, Iris versicolor, Typha x glauca, Thelypteris palustris.
