... small wetland in rolling bedrock terrain ... Shallow, half-acre depression surrounded by paper birch forest along primitive portage trrail ... Full sun to partial shade of Acer rubrum and Fraxinus nigra on wetland margin. Dense patch covers central, open, shallow water zone of wetland. Mucky substrate with frequent small boulders. Associated species include Mentha arvensis, Veronica scutellata, Alopecurus aequalis.
