Habitat: wet meadow dominated by Carex stricta and Calamagrostis canadensis, with lesser amounts of Spartina pectinata, Poa pratensis, and Phalaris arundinacea. Associates include: Epilobium palustre, Thelypteris palustris, Physostegia virginiana, Scutellaria galericulata, Lycopus uniflorus, Rumex orbiculata, Potentilla palustris, Galium tinctorium, Lathyrus palustris, Campanula aparinoides.
