Habitat: ...graminoid rich fen (basin). Associates include Aster umbellatus, A. puniceus, Gentiana rubricaulis, Carex lasiocarpa, C. leptalea, & Bromus ciliatus. Sphagnum spp. patchy, nearly absent. Saturated organic soils, the lowest troughs w/+/-1cm of standing water.
