Rolling forested moraine on southeast side of Bunker Lake ... In central portion of rich shrub fen filling a small (five-acre) basin. In partial shade of Betula papyrifera, Fraxinus nigra, Acer rubrum, and Larix laricina. In carpets of Sphagnum and Polytrichum mosses. Slightly quaky, saturated peat. Associates include Betula glandulifera, Salix pedicellaris, Toxicodendron rybergii, Carex disperma, C. utriculata, C. canescens, Calamagrostis canadensis, Thelypteris palustris, Dryopteris cristata, Osmunda cinnamomea, Rubus pubescens, Triadenum fraseri, Aster umbellatus, Lysimachia thyrsiflora.
