Habitat: Small depression in rolling wooded terrain; Forms dominant cover in 3 acre tamarack swamp. Canopy is dense stand of Larix laricina. In continuous Sphagnum carpet. Most abundant on higher, drier hummocks. Associated with Carex trisperma.
