Habitat: eastern side of a rich fen fringe of an open water pool within a surrounding white cedar (Thus occidentalis) swamp. Most common within 2-4 meters of water's edge. Continuous moss carpet dominated by Sphagnum spp. Associates: Dulichium arundinaceum, Potentilla palustris, Carex limosa, and Scheuchzeria palustris.
