On open peaty substrate exposed by vehicle traffic. (Wetland quite dry due to extended drought.) Full sun. Associated species include Eleocharis obtusa, Leersia oryzoides, Panicum philadelphicum, Glyceria grandis, Echinochloa muricata, Polygonum lapathifolium, Alisma subcordatum, Bidens cernua, B. frondosa, B. comosa, Gnaphalium uliginosum, Hypericum majus, Lindernia dubia.
