Habitat:
In richer portions of 25-acre tamarack swamp. Canopy patchy to interrupted, dominated by Larix laricina, with scattered Acer rubrum. Rather dense and tall Alnus incana in understory locally. Slightly quaky, moss-covered, peat substrate. Associated species include Thelypteris palustris, Drypoteris carthusiana, Lycopus uniflorus, Scutellaria lateriflora, Rubus pubescens, Cypripedium acuaule, Galium obtusum, Equisetum fluviatile, Onoclea sensibilis, Carex brunnescens, C. canescens, C. disperma, Phalaris arundinacea, Parthenocissus inserta.
