Habitat: shallow water of wet road ditch which has naturally re-vegetated approximately 30 years after road realignment. Thin, mucky, clay over gravel. Full sun to partial shade of Alnus incana. Associates include Eleocharis elliptica, Juncus longistylis, J. nodosus, Carex viridula, C. aurea, Equisetum variegatum, E. arvense, Euthamia graminifolia, Halenia deflexa.
