Habitat: On sand-gravel bar exposed by receding river level (water lower than normal due to extended drought). Fairly moist pea-sized gravel and sand 2-12 inches above current river level. Associated species include Cyperus odoratus, Eleocharis intermedia, Panicum philadelphicum, Eragrostis hypnoides, Zizania palustris, Veronica catenata, Rumex maritimus, Pilea fontana.
