hardwood swamp; Patchy canopy of Fraxinus nigra, Tilia americana, and Betula allegheniensis [sic], Acer spiccatum [sic], Abies balsamea, Mitella nuda, Carex lacustris and C. leptolea [sic] common below. Soils: saturated fibric peat over mottled clay.
