Habitat: Level to gently-rolling outwash plain ... Large wetland complex forming the headwaters ... in sedge meadow and shrub swamp settings ... in full sun to partial shade of Salix discolor, Betula glandulifera, and Populus tremuloides. Deep saturated peat. Associated species include Carex lacustris, C. lasiocarpa, C. interior, C. prairea, Calamagrostis canadensis, Glyceria striata, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Equisetumm fluviatile, Galium labradoricum, Aster borealis, Pedicularis lanceolata, Cornus stolonifera, Salix pedicellaris.
