Habitat: In a brushy habitat on the right-of-way of an abandoned railroad ... Associated with Rhus glabra, Lonicera tatarica, Thamnus cathartica.
Description: An open-grown shrub 4.6 m tall, with 3 stems each 8 cm dia. Crown spread 5 m. Stamens 7-10, anthers white. No compound thorns, but simple thorns abundant. At peak of anthesis this date (synchronous with C. mollis). Collected from the same stem as #25938 (fruiting specimen).
