Habitat: Coll'd in dry prairie on top of knoll in shallowly-undulating topography on terrace; In community dominated by Schizachyrium scoparium and Bouteloua curtipendula. Soils are dark brown, loamy sand with frequent glacial erratics at surface. Associated with Koeleria macrantha, Andropogon gerardii, Liatris punctata, Petalostemon purpureum, Psoralea argophylla.
