Habitat:
In an abandoned gravel pit ... Full sun to partial shade of Populus deltoides. Sandy-gravel substrate. Associated species include Poa compressa, Bromus inermis, Arabis glabra, Artemisia campestris. Confined to area that was mined in the past; has not yet invaded nearby remnant native prairie patches.
