Habitat: Growing on the upland side of an ecotone between dry oak forest and wet meadow. At the base of a 2" south slope under a near-continuous canopy of Quercus ellipsoidalis and Q. macrocarpa. Associates: Thelyptarus [sic] palustris, Acer rubrum, Corylus americana, Cornus canadensis, Carex pennsylvanica.
