Habitat: Rolling terrain ... in small (~5 acres), degraded, dry prairie remnants in un-mined areas of old gravel pit. Dry gravelly soil. Full sun to partial shade of Populus tremuloides and P. deltoides. Associated species include Bouteloua gracilis, Bromus inermis, Andropogon gerardii, Schizachrium [sic] scoparium, Stipa spartea, Petalostemum purpureum, Liatris punctata, Allium stellatum, Artemisia campestris, Aster ericoides.
