Habitat: Ecotonal area where an alluvial meadow dominated by Calamagrostis canadensis transitions to alluvial forest as elevation rises 2-3 feet. Shaded by Fraxinus nigra, F. pennsylvanica, and Tilia americana. Silty substrate. Associated species include Carex lacustris, Iris versicolor, Onoclea sensibilis, Laportea canadensis, Viburnum trilobum, Cornus amomum.
