Habitat: small, boggy, sedge fen in depression in strongly roling, wooded, morainal terrain; Partial shade of immatue Larix laricina. in continuous Sphagnum moss carpet. Associates include Vaccinium oxycoccus, Betula glandulifera, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Salix pyrifolia, Calla palustris, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Eriophorum chamissonis, Carex canescens, C. lasiocarpa.
