Habitat: in small wet prairie along margin of narrow wet meadow drainage through oak & aspen woodland. Full sun. Moist organic loam. Associates include Carex haydenii, Spartina pectinata, Panicum boreale, Platanthera flava, Cicuta maculata, Pedicularis canadensis, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Potentilla simplex, Galium boreale, Fragaria virginiana, Rudbeckia hirta, Zizia aurea, Solidago canadensis.
