Habitat: in boggy fen with continuous Sphagnum moss carpet. Fiften acre basin surrounded by wooded, 30-40 foot hills of an esker. Full sun. Saturated peat. Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, Thelypteris palustris, Lycopus uniflorus, Sagittaria latifolia, Lysimachis thrysiflora, Drosera rotundifolia, Salix pedicellaris, S. eriocephala, Betula glandulifera.
