Habitat: Cystopteris fragilis: A few clumps growing in sandy loam in shade at crest of steep north facing slope (~45-50 degrees) ~10 ft above shoreline. Associates include Aralia nudicaulis, Festuca subverticillata, Toxicodendron radicans, Solidago flexicaulis, Prunus pensylvanica, Thalictrum dioicum, Viburnum rafinesquianum. Canopy of Acer saccharum and Tilia americana.
