Habitat:
on gabbro outcrops atop steep, 200-foot, south-facing slope. In full sun in thin, dry soil, and in bedrock crevices. Associates include Carex abdita, C. backii, Danthonia spicata, Agrostis scabra, Poa pratensis, Woodsia ilvensis, Viola adunca, Antennaria neglecta var. neodioica, Hieracium pilosella, Corydalis sempervirens, Diervilla lonicera, Rhus glabra, Vaccinium myrtilloides, and Cladina and many other lichens.
Description:
Locally frequent. Densely cespitose.
