Habitat: in moss under very open stunted black spruce and tamarack in area surrounding spring fen channel. Associated species include Betula glandulifera, Andromeda glaucophylla, Scirpus cespitosus, Parnassia glauca, Scirpus hudsonianus, Ledum groenlandicum, Sphagnum spp., and Pleurozium schreberi.
