Habitat: Black ash swamp within a larger matrix of cedar and black spruce forest and small uplands of trembling aspen and fir. Soil sapric peat over mineral soil, very moist... with Rubus pubescens, Arisaema tryphyllum [sic], Festuca subverticillata, Dryopteris carthusiana, Galium asprellum, Mitella nuda. Under canopy of Fraxinus nigra.
