Habitat:
in shallow marly lake and in small wet depressions on its narrow marginal floating sedge mat (rich fen). Full sun. Associates include Myriophyllum verticillatum, zizania aquatica, Nymphaea tuberosa, Najas flexilis, Utricularia vulgaris, U. intermedia, Nuphar variegatum, Carex lasiocarpa.
