Habitat: In moist to wet ditch here on gradually-sloping lower portion of 500 to 600-foot bluffs...In partial shade under open-canopied forest dominated locally by Betula papyrifera, B. allegheniensis, Thuja occidentalis, Populus balsamifera, P. tremuloides, and Picea glauca. Associates include Onoclea sensibilis, Impatiens capensis, Glyceria striata, Scirpus cyperinus, Aster umbellatus.
