Habitat: Large wetland complex surrounded by eskers in rolling forested moraine ... poor conifer swamp. Most of the trees (Larix laricina and Picea mariana) are dead due to past flooding by beavers. Full sun. Continuous Sphagnum spp. and Polytrichum sp. moss carpets. Saturated peat. Associated species include Carex lasiocarpa, C. utriculata, C. trisperma, Eriophorum vaginatum var. spissum, Chamaedaphne calyculata, Ledum groenlandicum, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Andromeda glaucophylla, Smilacina trifolia.
