Habitat: on rather dry, mossy ledges of 20 to 40-foot, north-facing, granite cliff at the mouth of the [river]. Partially shaded by forest atop the cliff and by shrubs and small trees on the cliff itself including Alnus viridis, Betula papyrifera, Acer spicatum, Picea glauca, Sambucus racemosa, and Sorbus decora. Additional associates include Draba arabisans, Polypodium virginianum, Woodsia ilvensis, Achillea millefolium, Rubus strigosus.
