Habitat: sandbar exposed by low water levels (extended drought). Substrate is coarse sand, and shallow silt over sand. Full sun. Associated species include Eragrostis hypnoides, Cyperus squarrosus, Eleocharis intermedia, Mimulus ringens, Polygonum lapathifolium, Brassica rapa, and seedlings of Salix x rubens.
