Habitat: Poor, open black spruce swamp/poor fen with scattered and stunted Picea mariana and Chamaedaphne calyculata, Ledum, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Kalmia polifolia, Smilacina trifolia, Carex paupercula, C. pauciflora, etc. In deep Sphagnum hummocks.
