On sandbar exposed by low water levels (extended drought). Substrate is coarse sand. Full sun. Associated species include Phalaris arundinacea, Eragrostis hypnoides, Cyperus squarrosus, C. odoratus, Eleocharis intermedia, Mimulus ringens, Erysimum cheiranthoides, Bidens sp.
