Habitat: on floating sedge mat (rich fen) on boggy margin of shallow marly lake. Narrow zone between open water and tamarack swamp. In carpets of Sphagnum moss. Full sun to partial shade of Larix laricina. Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. limosa, Thelypteris palustris, Potentilla palustris, Sarracenia purpurea, Scirpus hudsonianus, Drosera rotundifolia, Rubus pubescens, Salix pedicellaris, Betula glandulifera. Trailing over and through the Sphagnum.
