At the base of a north-facing bluff in the [river valley]. Sedge meadow with scattered willow and dogwood, dominated by Carex prairea. In saturated peat, ph 7.5. Associated with Eupatorium maculatum, Sagittaria latifolia, Amorpha fruticosa.
