Associated species include Schizachrium [sic] scoparium, Bouteloua curtipendula, Stipa spartea, Poa pratensis, Bromus inermis, Geum triflorum, Solidago nemoralis, S. rigida, S. speciosa, Psoralea esculenta, Echinacea angustifolia, Astragalus adsurgens, A. crassicarpus, Petalostemum purpureum, Commandra umbellata, Zizia aptera, Liatris punctata, Aster oolentangiensis, A. ericoides, Amorpha canescens, Symphoricarpos occidentalis.
