Habitat: Along gravel road in fairly rugged forested moraine ... roadside patches planted to "prairie wildlfowers". Sandy gravel soil. Mostly in full sun. Associaated species include Coreopsis lanceolata, Lupinus polyphyllus, Ratibida columnifera, Achillea millefolium, Fragaria virginiana, Agastache foeniculum, Rudbeckia hirta, Echinacea angustifolia, Poa pratensis.
