Habitat: Extensive inter-drumlin wetland complex on rolling drumlin plain ... minerotrophic tamarack swamp dominated by mature Larix laricina. Canopy moderately dense, with some patches of snags. Understory rather sparse, mostly Alnus incana and Betula glandulifera ... on low hummocks and in shallow depressions; often in carpets of Sphagnum spp. mosses. Moist peat. Associated species include Carex disperma, C. leptalea, Stellaria longifolia, Equisetum fluviatile, Polygonum sagittatum, Aster puniceus, Smilacina trifolia, Rubus pubescens, Parthenocissus inserta, Ribes hirtellum, Lonicera villosa, Ledum groenlandicum, Cornus stolonifera, C. rugosa.
