Habitat: In a grassy/brushy habitat on an abandoned railroad embankment ... Associated with bromus inermis, Rhus radicans var. rydbergii, Prunus americana, Rhus typhina, Symphoricarpos occidentalis.
Description: A medium-size shrub about 2 meters tall, with multiple stems each ca 3 cm in diam. Stamens 8-10, anthers white. No compound thorns present, only simple thorns. At peak of anthesis this date (spring 1 week late this year). Collected from same stem as #25929 (fruiting specimen).
