Habitat: five acre boggy floating mat in depression surrounded by wooded 20-40 foot hills. Strongly-rolling morainal terrain; In full sun to shaded by Larix laricina, Salix petiolaris, S. discolor, and S. pyrifolia. In moist to wet carpet of Sphagnum moss. Associates include Eriophorum gracile, E. angustifolium, Carex lasiocarpa, C. lacustris, C. chordorrhiza, Petasites sagittatus, Triadenum fraseri, Scirpus cyperinus, Epilobium leptophyllum, Potentilla palustris, Viola renifolia.
