Habitat: in and around seepage swamp on valley floor at base of 300ft, north-facing slope. Sparse canopy dominated by Fraxinus nigra. Associates include Carex gravida, C. woodii, C. gracillima, Floerkea proserpinacoides, Isopyrum biternatum, Aster prenanthoides, Ranunculus septentrionalis, Impatiens. Moist, organic soil.
