Habitat:
In small spring fen in fairly rugged terrain...five-acre sedge fen with pools of upwelling groundwater. In ravine between the steep slopes of 150-foot ridge to south and the more gradual slopes of much higher ridge...to north. Spongy, deep, saturated peat. Full sun. Associates include Carex exilis, C. limosa, C. lasiocarpa, Eleocharis compressa, Rhynchsopora fusca, R. alba, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Juncus stygius, Drosera anglica, D. intermedia, Utricularia minor, U. intermedia, Myrica gale, Triadenum fraseri. Upgradient in ravine are [sic] swamp communities dominated by Larix laricina, Thuja occidentalis, and/or Alnus incana.
