Habitat: At the margin of an oak forest where it borders an old pasture (abandoned 20+ yrs) ... Associated with Zanthoxylum americanum, Viburnum lentago, Prunus pensylvanica, Rhamnus cathartica, Crataegus punctata.
Description: A much branched shrub with 3 stems from one crown, each ca 3 m tall and 5 cm dia. Stamens 7-10, anthers white. No compound thorns present. Fruit red, shiny; L=0.95-1.10 cm, W=0.95-1.10 cm. Nutlets 3. Collected from same stemas #25622 (flowering specimen)
